First Republic hires NYC-based relationship manager

Merrill Lynch-owned private bank brings in former Wachovia private banker. San Francisco-based private bank First Republic has hired former Wachovia executive Gary Farro as a senior relationship manager. He is based in New York.

Expanding team

"Gary Farro is a terrific addition to our expanding team of private bankers in Manhattan," says First Republic's president and COO Katherine August-deWilde. "Gary shares First Republic's commitment to exceptional client service."

An 11-year veteran of the financial-service industry, Farro was most recently a "financial specialist leader" with Charlotte, N.C.-based Wachovia.

In his new role, Farro works with high-net-worth individuals and families. First Republic's wealth-management-service roster includes private and business banking, investment management, real estate lending and trust services.

First Republic is a division of Merrill Lynch. In addition to San Francisco and New York, it has offices in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Calif., Newport Beach, Calif., San Diego, Las Vegas, Portland, Ore., Seattle and Boston. -FWR
